- Eric Clapton Concludes 2008 Summer Tour In Monaco
- Eric Clapton performed the second of two concerts at Monaco's Sporting Summer Festival on Saturday, 23 August ending a 27 date Summer Tour which started in May in the United States. The tour visited nine U.S. cities; two each in Canada and Ireland; three in England and ten European cities playing before thousands of fans. Eric opened with "Hoochie Coochie Man" and two songs he recorded with Derek and the Dominos back in 1970: "Tell The Truth" and "Little Wing." From there, the set list, which was changed from the previous evening, had lots of blues and songs from his back catalog. Although EC delivered his hallmark guitar solos throughout, guitarist Doyle Bramhall II turned in some top-notch solos, particularly during "Little Queen of Spades." And just like the earlier nights on the tour, long-time bandmember Chris Stainton delivered several killer keyboard solos. Standout numbers were "Little Wing," "Driftin," "Got To Get Better In A Little While" and "Cocaine". Read entry

- EC Concert News: First Night In Monaco
- Eric Clapton and his band performed the first of two concerts at Monaco's Sporting Summer Festival on Friday, 22 August. The 800 concert-goers enjoyed an elegant sit down dinner before the concert. Eric stepped onstage at 10:30PM and the show ended at the stroke of midnight. The set was changed around quite a bit to fit the 90 minutes allotted by the Sporting Summer Festival. After opening with an unusually short version of "Layla", the band continued on with solid renditions of "Hoochie Coochie Man" and "Here But I'm Gone". The stand-out number of the evening was "Got To Get Better In A Little While," which featured excellent solos from EC and bassist Willie Weeks. Read entry
