On 14 June 2001, Clapton was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. The National Academy of Popular Music / Songwriters’ Hall of Fame is based in the United States. It was founded in 1969 and is dedicated to recognizing the work and lives of composers and lyricists who create popular music around the world.
