Spampinato was the bass player for the 1991 blues nights at the Royal Albert Hall. He also appears in the Chuck Berry concert film Hail, Hail, Rock-N-Roll which also features an appearance by Clapton. Spampinato is one of the founding members of NRBQ (shorthand for New Rhythm and Blues Quartet) and is their lead vocalist. Although NRBQ has opened for headliners like Bonnie Raitt, they remain relatively obscure.
