Richard Cousins hails from Oakland, California. He was an original member of the Robert Cray Band, playing bass. In 1990, Richard joined Eric Clapton’s blues band on stage at the Royal Albert Hall, along with Robert Cray.

Some of his session work includes Van Morrison’s Too Long In Exile, all three “comeback” albums of John Lee Hooker, B.B. King’s Playing With My Friends, among others.
