In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Clapton went through a period where he had a massive effects rack at his disposal. Of the effects available to him, Clapton only used the tri-stereo chorus.
Through the 2004 solo tour, Eric used a tri-stereo chorus (Boss Chorus CE-3), a Leslie pedal, a Jim Dunlop 535 Crybaby wah-wah pedal (6 way selectable) and a box to switch from the amp to the Leslie or to select both. He does not use an overdrive pedal. He gets all of the overdrive from the 25dB boost in his guitar, a Fender Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster.
For the Cream Reunion Shows in May 2005, Eric used a Jimi Hendrix Wah Wah Pedal and a box to switch from the Fender Custom Shop Twin Tweed amp to the Leslie or to select both.
Eric launched a solo world tour on 5 May 2006. The tour will continue through 2007. Eric is currently using the following on stage:
