Derek and The Dominos

Derek and The Dominos began to gel as Eric Clapton's new band during April and May 1970. During this time, they rehearsed at his English country home and played on sessions for George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass. On 14 June 1970, The Dominos gave their first live performance at the Lyceum in London. The band would break up by May 1971 during sessions for their second album.

The lineup for Derek and The Dominos was:
Eric Clapton - Guitar, Vocals
Jim Gordon - Drums
Carl Radle - Bass
Bobby Whitlock - Keyboards, Vocals

Additional Personnel:

George Harrison - Guitar (Played on the session for the band’s first single on 18 June 1970)

Dave Mason - Guitar (Left the band after their first performance on 14 June 1970)

Duane Allman - Guitar (Sessions for Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs only. August and September 1970)

Other members of the Allman Brothers Band - Gregg Allman (Keyboards), Dickey Betts (Guitar), Berry Oakley (Bass) and Butch Trucks (Drums) - jammed with Derek and The Dominos at Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida during the recording of Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. “Key of E” Jam is available on the 20th Anniversary Issue of the Layla album.
