Clapton Concert News From Augustenborg Slotspark

Eric Clapton and his band performed in Denmark on 26 July 2006 at Augustenborg Slotspark. The band presented 17 songs in the 2 hour concert. In addition to traditional blues like "Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out" and "Further On Up The Road," the show featured numbers from Eric’s extensive back catalog including "Motherless Children" from "461 Ocean Boulevard" (1974), "Pretending" from 1989’s "Journeyman" and "After Midnight" from his self-titled 1970 debut. As always, "Wonderful Tonight" was a crowd-pleaser.

The Robert Cray Band opened.

A few concert-goers reached out to Where’s Eric! shortly after the show ended. Here’s what they had to say:

"My first highlight of the evening was ‘I shot the sheriff’. What a great solo from EC and great drumming from Steve Jordan." – Søren Arleth

"’I Shot The Sheriff’ was blistering as well as ‘Old Love’ (by ‘mistake’ EC announced Tim Carmon as ‘Ginger Baker’ with reference to the Sunshine Of Your Love riffs during Tim’s solo) and ‘Little Queen Of Spades’". – Niels Amond Adsersen

"A peak in the gig was ‘Old Love’ with 4 guitars on the stage (including Robert Cray) this was just breathtaking. All had their solo and it was just fantastic." – Peter and Henrik Simoni
