Clapton Ends US Tour In Pittsburgh. Jams With The Wallflowers!

VIDEO INCLUDED! Eric Clapton wrapped up the first leg of his 2013 “Fifty Years Further On Up The Road Tour” at Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center on Saturday, 6 April. The 15 date US Tour kicked off 14 March in Phoenix. Fans who were in their seats for the support act, The Wallflowers, experienced a rare moment. Eric stepped out on stage to join them on their final number, The Weight. Robert S. reported in on Eric’s set: “The show last night in Pittsburgh was awesome! Eric Clapton and his bandmates sounded great for the entire performance, and the acoustic set featuring Layla, Tears in Heaven, Lay Down Sally, Wonderful Tonight was perfect. Gotta Get Better was an awesome jam, as was Little Queen of Spades. Some really great musicians to say the least. The fact that it was the last stop of the North American tour lent itself to the show being really relaxed and fun for all of them. Clapton smiled alot and the whole band really enjoyed themselves. What a great show!!! I said “Wow!” many times!” Todd P told Where’s Eric!: “Awesome show, Eric played a lot of music that we had never seen him play. The band was great. This was my 6th time seeing Eric (including 2 Crossroads) last night may be my favorite.”

Here’s the first clip we’ve come across of EC sitting in with The Wallflowers:

Next up for Eric is the Crossroads Guitar Festival on 12 and 13 April. After that, there will be a brief hiatus before the UK and European Tour kicks off in Dublin on 9 May.
