Clapton / Winwood 2010 European Tour Stops In Bucharest

Published // 12.Jun.10

Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood performed the next-to-last concert of their 16 date co-headling tour at Bucharest's Rugby Park (Stadionul Tineretului) on 11 June. There were no changes to the 20 song set list. The crowd was treated to Blind Faith Classics, material from Clapton's and Winwood's solo careers, blues and a cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile" (Winwood played on the original recording). Where's Eric! received a brief message from it's ace staff reporter who called it "another strong performance despite an unengaged audience." Another fan, checked in via email with a contrasting opinion, writing, "... lack of crowd energy, the coming end of the tour, whatever, this show, while the same set list as Belgrade, was a lackluster affair. In Belgrade, the show was fantsatic. Great energy from the audience and the band seemed to be having a good time."

On stage with the legendary musicians were band members Chris Stainton (keyboards), Steve Gadd (drums), Willie Weeks (bass), Sharon White (backing vocals) and Michelle John (backing vocals).

The Clapton / Winwood 2010 European tour wraps 13 June at Istanbul's Turkcell Kurucesme Arena. It opened 18 May at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England. On 26 June, Eric Clapton will host his third Crossroads Guitar Festival and in the days following, play four solo dates in America. Steve Winwood will be one of Eric's many musical guests at the festival. He'll then be on the road in the U.S. and Canada during the summer with Carlos Santana.
