Clapton / Winwood European Tour Reaches Malmo
[Updated] Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood continued their 2010 European Tour with a concert at the Malmo Arena in Sweden on Monday 31 May. It was the 9th show of their 16-date tour which wraps 13 June in Istanbul. Long-time Where's Eric! contributor Heidi Widmer said via text message, "Another magnificent show with lots of smiles on stage. 'The Shape I'm In' was dropped from the set and there were no other changes. Voodoo Chile had a terrific guitar solo and Cocaine had a great wah-wah solo from Eric; I believe it was the first time on the tour he used the wah-wah pedal during 'Cocaine'." A Swedish fan reported "Absolutely fabulous show, Clapton and Winwood played and sung brilliant throughout the concert outperforming even the highest expectations. Highlights included Tough Luck Blues, Driftin´, Georgia, Gimme Me Some Lovin and Voodoo Chile. Claptons solos on Tough Luck Blues and Georgia among the best I have heard."
The next gig takes place on 2 June at O2 World Arena in Berlin, Germany.
