EC Helps Celebrate 75th Anniversary Of The Outward Bound Trust

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh launched the 75th Anniversary Appeal of the the Outward Bound Trust with a gala event at Buckingham Palace on 1 December. The Outward Bound Trust, founded in 1941, is an educational charity that uses the outdoors to help develop young people from all walks of life to become confident, self-assured, pro-active people. The organisation teaches skills needed throughout life such as teamwork, communications, courage and leadership. Since its founding, over 1 million people have participated in an Outward Bound course in the UK.

Prince Philip served as Chairman of Trustees for many years and is now the Outward Bound Trust’s Patron.

Eric Clapton performed a short six-song set for the assembled guests. EC’s band for the evening was Andy Fairweather Low (guitar / vocals), Dave Bronze (bass), Paul Carrack (keyboards / vocals), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Henry Spinetti (drums), Michelle John (backing vocals) and Sharon White (backing vocals).
