Eric Clapton Donates Autographed Guitar For A Hurricane Katrina Fundraising Auction

Eric Clapton has donated one of his 000-28 Martin Acoustic signature model guitars to the "Higher Ground" benefit auction to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. The auction is part of a large fundraising effort coordinated through Jazz at Lincoln Center.

The guitar was autographed by both Clapton and John Mayer to commemorate their joint-performance on the "How You Can Help" edition of the Larry King Show (CNN) on 3 September. That evening, the men performed Clapton’s song, "Broken Hearted." The guitar is fitted with an under-saddle Fishman gold pickup system. The auction will be conducted online by eBay. It begins 17 September and ends 26 September 2005 at 7PM (EST).
