Eric Clapton Launches Spring Tour In Dublin

Eric Clapton launched the Spring portion of his 2011 Solo Tour at Dublin’s O2 on 9 May. This tour features many familiar faces. Bandmembers are Chris Stainton (keyboards), Tim Carmon (keyboards), Willie Weeks (bass), Steve Gadd (drums), Michelle John (backing vocals), and Sharon White (backing vocals). One fan who checked in briefly with Where’s Eric! wrote, "Old Love – superb, I Shot The Sheriff – extra inventive, Little Queen Of Spades – sublime". Another wrote, "A good start to the tour. A very solid performance with EC in great form."

The acoustic sit down set featured Gary Moore’s Still Got The Blues, followed by JJ Cale’s Same Old Blues. Both of these have been cited as highlights, along with Badge, I Shot The Sheriff and Old Love. Like the first leg of the tour, Layla is unplugged.
