Eric Clapton Surprise Guest Appearance At Charity Bash In Guildford

January 8 Event Supported The Prostate Project, The Stokes Centre For Urology Building Fund at RSCH And Cranleigh Arts Centre.

On Monday night, Eric Clapton stepped out on stage at Paul Jones’ annual charity concert, Paul Jones and Friends. Other special guests were Sir Tom Jones, Van Morrison and Mick Rogers.

Eric closed the night’s first set with three songs – Somebody Knocking, Little Queen Of Spades and Before You Accuse, backed by the houseband, Jawbone. Jawbone includes Paddy Milner and Marcus Bonfanti. Scott McKeon played second guitar on all songs. Paul Jones joined in on harmonica on Eric’s final number.

The event happened at G Live, a 1700 capacity event space, in Guildford. The charity bash was previosuly held at the Cranleigh Arts Center for 10 years. Eric has been an occasional guest at these fundraising concerts organized by Paul Jones. Profits from the 2018 event raised funds for construction of the new Stokes Centre For Urology at Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, The Prostate Project and the Cranleigh Arts Centre, of which Paul is patron.
