Gary Clark Jr. To Open Eric Clapton’s UK Shows

Rising star Gary Clark Jr. is set to support Eric Clapton on his 2013 UK dates and will be part of the lineup at the Crossroads Guitar Festival  in New York City. Growing up in Austin, Texas, Gary has said he’s been influenced by blues, jazz, soul, country and hip hop. The three time winner of the Austin Music Award for Best Blues and Electric Guitarist, is currently on tour in Australia followed by dates in Europe in February and March.

Gary previously supported EC in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo in 2011 and was part of the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. Last February, EC and Gary teamed up at the Hubert Sumlin tribute concert, Howlin’ For Hubert.
