New Two-Volume Book From Marc Roberty: Eric Clapton Day By Day
An in-depth two-volume biography of Eric Clapton's professional life in music from author, music historian and acknowledged Clapton expert Marc Roberty will be published in 2013. Volume 1, covering 1963 to 1982, will be available 14 May from Backbeat Books. Eric Clapton Day by Day will present the legendary musician's entire career in a day-by-day format with details of bands he joined and left, his studio work (including details of all released and unreleased recordings), guest appearances on other artists' records and all live appearances. Years of extensive worldwide research and interviews with numerous musicians, film directors, producers, and studio engineers went into this comprehensive biographical work.
Volume 1 offers insight into how Clapton slowly found his own musical identity during the years 1963 to 1982. Volume 2, set for publication in fall 2013, will continue the story, covering his comeback after problematic years of drug and alcohol abuse and his going on to become one of the world's most respected and admired musicians.
The book's publication coincides with Eric Clapton's 50th anniversary in the music business.
