Prince’s Trust Rock Gala To Air On Sky 3D On 19 December

Filmed in 3D on 17 November at London’s Royal Albert Hall, highlights of the Prince’s Trust Rock Gala 2010 will air on Sky 3D (Sky Channel 217) from 8PM to 9:30PM on 19 December in the UK. A repeat broadcast airs on 2 January at 4PM. According to TV Guide, a 30 minute "behind the scenes" show will also air immediately following both broadcasts. The evening was hosted by Barry Humphries as Dame Edna Everage and Rob Brydon. The roster of entertainers was Tom Chaplin, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Jamie Cullum, Paloma Faith, Jools Holland, Tom Jones, Mark King, Brian May, Mike & The Mechanics, Alison Moyet, Status Quo, Roger Taylor and Midge Ure. Ure also served as the evening’s musical director.

On the night of the concert, Eric Clapton, backed by The Prince’s Trust All Stars house band and accompanied by his long-time band member Chris Stainton, performed "Rockin’ Chair", JJ Cale’s "Same Old Blues", "Little Queen of Spades", and "Crossroads". It is not known if all songs will be included in the broadcast. 

The concert was in aid of the Prince’s Trust, which was founded in 1976 by HRH The Prince of Wales. It is the UK’s leading youth charity and is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged young people. It offers training, personal development, business start up support, mentoring and advice.
