Rotterdam Concert Report: 12 April 2004

Eric Clapton performed two back-to-back sold-out shows at the Ahoy in Rotterdam. Dutch fans in attendance had this to say about Night Two:

Review by Cor van ‘t Holt

I’ve been to the concert in Antwerpen and both concerts in Rotterdam and I must say: Eric is absolutely GREAT. Both concerts in Ahoy where even better then the one in Antwerpen and that one was also very good.

I’ve never seen Eric is this shape (and I’ve seen him lots of times in the past), the solo in I Shot The Sheriff give me chickenskin every time I heard it. And the rest of the show was unbelievable. After the third concert this weekend I could cry because it was over!!

Concert review by Ad van Helfteren

I have been to the second concert in Rotterdam, April 12th. Just great, looks like he’s getting better every time I see him play. The first time I saw him in concert is thirty years ago, November 30th 1974, also in the Ahoy.

Highlights for me were: Got to get better in a little while (one of my favorites since his 1973 released live album In Concert), I shot the sheriff and Kind hearted woman blues.

Still I’m supprised that nobody mentioned the opening act: Robert Randolph & the Family Band! What a performance, that’s the way I like it. He even blew every one of stage while performing with Clapton and Band in the encore.

The complete set list for 12 April 2004 was:

Let It Rain
Hoochie Coochie Man
