Stefan Grossman Added To Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010 Lineup

Acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Stefan Grossman has been added to Eric Clapton’s 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival lineup. Born in Brooklyn, New York on 14 April 1945, Grossman was a founder member of the Even Dozen Jug Band along with with Steve Katz, John Sebastian and Maria Muldaur. He crossed paths with the festival’s host in the mid-sixties while a member of the Chicago Loop and he even stayed with Clapton when he first travelled to England in 1967. It was during that trip that Grossman also crossed paths with another festival performer, Bert Jansch. And like Clapton, he has a Martin acoustic signature model to his credit!

In addition to publishing several instructional guitar books over the years, Grossman released one of the earliest guitar instructional LPs, "How To Play Blues Guitar" (1966) and was the founder of Kicking Mule Records. Grossman still regularly conducts guitar workshops around the world.

Tickets for the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival went on sale to the general public on Saturday 20 February 2010 and sold out in 20 minutes. The festival takes place on 26 June at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois. The venue was also the location of the 2007 festival.
