Nathan East For The Record is a documentary film that takes viewers behind-the-scenes as one of the most influential bass players in modern music recorded his Grammy-nominated debut solo album. It can be viewed in its entirety at nathaneast.com.

WIth more than 1,500 album credits to his name, Nathan’s debut solo album, Nathan East, spent four weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Album chart and 34 weeks in the top position on smoothjazz.com; and the lead single “Daft Funk” went to #1.

For The Record also chronicles Nathan’s three decade plus career from when he hit the road age 16 with Barry White, his session and touring work across musical genres and membership in the legendary jazz quartet Fourplay. The film features interviews with many of the musicians he’s worked with including Eric Clapton, Phil Collns, Lionel Richie, Quincy Jones, Vince Gill, Herbie Hancock, Don Was and more.

This year, Nathan has three recording projects planned: Fourplay’s 25th Anniversary album, Silver, a spring duo album with Fourplay keyboardist Bob James and his own sophomore album in spring /summer. Fourplay has a few dates schedule in April and Nathan will join Eric Clapton at London’s Royal Albert Hall in May, for concerts celebrating the guitarist’s 70th Birthday. All seven shows have sold out.
