Sonny Landreth - who's been invited by Eric Clapton to perform at the last two Crossroads Guitar Festivals - will release his ninth album on 20 May on Landfall Records. From The Reach features lots of star power: Eric Clapton, Jimmy Buffet, Vince Gill, Mark Knopfler, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson and Dr. John. EC adds vocals and guitars to "When I Still Had You" and guitar to "Storm of Worry."
Speaking of Dr. John, his newest CD, City That Care Forgot, is due 3 June. The title is a reminder about the devastation visited upon New Orleans and it's residents by Hurricane Katrina. A number of guest musicians, including Eric Clapton, were invited into the studio to help out the good doctor.
