On Saturday 3 May, Eric Clapton kicked off the U.S. / Canada portion of his tour. Opening night was at the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa Bay, Florida. Eric's band for this summer tour has both new personnel and familiar faces: Doyle Bramhall II (guitar / vocals), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Pino Palladino (bass), Ian Thomas (drums), Sharon White (backing vocals) and Michelle John (backing vocals). The show, which lasted about two-hours, included many of Eric's well-known songs including, "Tell The Truth", "Little Wing", "Double Trouble", and "Running On Faith".
Eric and his band now move on to the Seminole Hardrock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida for a concert on Monday 5 May. Then, there's a short break in the tour until 22 May when the band performs at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. The U.S. and Canada dates wrap up 5 June in Wantagh, New York. All dates are in the eastern regions of the U.S. and Canada. The European gigs take place later in June and in August.
Tour Support for all U.S. and Canada dates is Robert Randolph & The Family Band. They also served as tour support for the 2004 World Tour and appeared at both Crossroads Guitar Festivals.
