Crashocasters: 25 October to 9 November 2009 at The Showroom NYC

Published: 15 October 2009
John Crash Matos Crashocasters Gallery Exhibition 2009 in New York City

Renowned graffiti artist John "Crash" Matos will have a solo gallery exhibition of his original painted guitars from 25 October to 9 November 2009 at The Showroom NYC. A pioneer of the graffiti art movement, Crash has painted several Fender Stratocasters for Eric Clapton. The Fender Custom Shop also commissioned the artist to paint 50 Stratocaster custom shop guitar bodies. Crash executed these works between 2004 and 2007, chronicling them in a series of online articles for Modern Guitars Magazine.

The guitars painted by Crash for Eric Clapton were featured exlusively in a full-colour article in Issue 35 of Where's Eric! Magazine. However, it is not yet known whether any of these guitars will be on display in New York.

The Showroom NYC is located at 117 Second Avenue - 2nd Floor in New York City's East Village. Hours are 2PM to 7PM during exhibitions.
