Britain's Prince Charles dined with guitar legend Eric Clapton and other stars at a champagne fundraising bash for his Prince's Trust charity.
Heir-to-the-throne Charles and wife Camilla joked with bluesman Clapton, pianist Jools Holland and actor Stephen Fry at the Banqueting House in central London before Clapton and Holland took to the stage.
Founded by Charles in 1976, the Prince's Trust has helped more than half a million disadvantaged young people reach their potential and follow their dreams.
Guests, who included top London bankers and people helped by the trust, had the chance to bid in an auction featuring celebrity lots.
A yoga lesson with Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow and a Giorgio Armani dress worn to the
Oscars by singer Beyonce Knowles were up for grabs.
Singer and guitarist Sarah Bennett, 26, from Guildford, southwest of London, said she had slept rough and in hostels for three years and took drugs before having a nervous breakdown.
She then attended a music workshop run by the charity and has gone on to support Holland and singer Will Young.
She said: "When I joined the programme I didn't think I could sing but today I've been singing and jamming with Eric Clapton."
