Today Eric Clapton and his band started the show with "Tell The Truth". "Pretending" was played now later in the set.

SET:
Tell the truth - What a surprise when the band walked out on the stage and opened with the Dominoes classic, Derek was in fine form from the off, he gets better with every show.
Got to get better - As normal this song was sensational with EC playing and singing like his life depended on it.
Old love - For me one of the finest versions ever played, it was apparent to every person in the room that EC was on fire.
Anyday - Just like evry other time it has been played, stunning!!!
Motherless children - Steve Jordan was outrageously good on this number, and EC and Derek`s dual soloing was again a joy to hear.
Sit down set:
Driftin - EC played it solo as normal for this tour, standard ec.
Key to the highway - No mistakes tonight! Doyle played harmonica and the smiles across the stage suggested the guys were releived not to have got their vocal parts mixed up.
Outside woman blues - AGAIN THE STAND OUT ACOUSTIC NUMBER!
Nobody knows you - Really good tonight< audience clapping along from start to end.
Running on faith - This song is better than ever before, Michelle and Sharon taking it to another level as normal.
After Midnight - No Gibson tonight, looks like Fenders from now on.
Little queen of spades - Fantastic this evening, solos from everybody stunned the Nagoya crowd.
Pretending - We never thought the Journeyman song would appear so late in the set. The familiar piano/drum intro was welcomed by the crowd and EC was at his best.
Wonderful 2Nite- As expected!!!!!
LAYLA - Average version, but the outro produced some great interplay between DT & ec!!!!!!
COCAINE - Eric saved the best solo of the show for Cocaine.
ENCORE: crossroads. As always a powerhouse blues - irreplaceable!!!!!!!
The opening night at Nagoya Rainbow Hall was a good show, but not quite in the same league as the first and third Osaka shows.
The band is so hot on this Japanese leg, all shows have been great, but there`s always gonna be those we rave about.
Review by Old Blue
Slightly paced down and less intense than Osaka, but quite an enjoyable show despite (or perhaps because of) that. There was a very relaxed atmosphere about EC and the band on the stage.
Tell The Truth was a surprise opener which was refreshing to say the least.
As they finished the show and walked off the stage, Eric threw a pick to the crowd in the front area, which caused a mayhem among them. A rare occurrence and I have never seen Eric doing so for the past thirty-two years. Never.
One noticeable thing about every gig so far in this Japanese tour is that Eric is in an absolutely good mood, more so than ever, and looks enjoying playing himself. Certainly he is back home in Japan!
