Bobfest Coming to Blu-Ray and DVD

On March 4, Sony Legacy Recordings will release an upgraded and expanded edition of Bob Dylan’s 30th Anniversary Concert on Blu-Ray and DVD for the first time. Christened “Bobfest” by Neil Young at the start of his set, the marathon concert on October 16, 1992 was organized to commemorate the thirty years since the release of Dylan’s self-titled debut on Columbia in March 1962. More than 25 of Dylan’s musical colleagues paid tribute. The artists included Eric Clapton, George Harrison, The Band, Ron Wood, Johnny Cash, Lou Reed, and Johnny Winter performed in his honor at Madison Square Garden. Broadcast live on pay-per-view, it was released on VHS and CD the following year. The two-disc CD will also be reissued on March 4 with additional tracks.

Both of Eric’s songs from the night will be featured on all formats – he brought down the house with his takes on “Love Minus Zero / No Limit” (available for the first time on CD) and “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright”. Near the close of the evening, Eric joined Dylan, Young, Tom Petty, Roger McGuinn, and George Harrison for “My Back Pages”. He also took part in the all-star jam, “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”. Eric’s rehearsal of “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” will be included as bonus material on the CD release.

The DVD and Blu-Ray are high-definition 16:9 with remastered audio, and 40 minutes of “Behind The Scenes” material with previously unreleased rehearsal footage and interviews.
