Charlotte Concert News

News has been slow coming in from North Carolina. At the show in Charlotte on 2 April, Eric Clapton seemed more laid back than expected in the first part of the show according to longtime Where’s Eric! contributor, Steve Proctor. He continued, “‘Got to Get Better in a Little While’ was an early highlight while ‘I Shot The Sheriff’ was good but fell short of past performances. With the Robert Johnson set, things finally reached the stratosphere. ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’ was powerful and a welcomed return to the setlist.”
Jim S. said, “Following a tasty opener by The Wallflowers (which was very enjoyable and could have been longer),  Eric and his talented crew set to work cranking out an energetic set.  Clapton’s guitar and vocal skills continue in top form and he blistered solo after solo off the rafters of the Time-Warner Cable Arena.  Great sound for large venue and a very talented backing band.  He’s still got it!”

Traci D, who was attending her first EC show, told Where’s Eric!: “I have nothing to compare it to other than footage I’ve watched of Eric elsewhere.I thought he was amazing.  He was low key, didn’t talk much to the audience. He just did his thing on his guitars and that’s what I came to see. Eric makes it all look so effortless and that’s why he is so incredible.  You could tell he enjoyed playing the blues stuff more than the older stuff. His band rocked too.”
