Clapton Concert Details: Air Canada Center, Toronto

Just one night after postponing a concert in Auburn Hills, Michigan due to illness, Eric Clapton and his band travelled north of the US border to perform the first of two shows in Canada. At Air Canada Center in Toronto,  On 24 September 2006, Eric put on a two-hour show which went from highlight to highlight. The two strongest numbers were "I Shot The Sheriff" and "Got To Get Better In A Little While" according to those in attendance. Another crowd favorite was "Old Love" from 1989’s "Journeyman." After EC’s breathtaking solo, an extended keyboard solo from Tim Carmon wowed the audience. "Pretending" and "Running On Faith" from that album are also performed nightly on this tour.

EC & Company now move on to Ottawa for a show on Tuesday evening, 26 September, at Scotiabank Place. A revised date for the postponed Auburn Hills show is expected this week.

Brief comments from some who attended:

Highlights included a fantastic version of I Shot the Sheriff (the best version I’ve personally heard live), Got to Get Better in a Littlle While, Old Love, and Little Queen of Spades.              – Matthew

Overall, another fine performance by my favourite guitarist. Eric Clapton ranks amongst my favourite musicians of any style. I am continually amazed that every album he releases gets better than the one before. – Jason Hickox
