Eric Clapton At Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle

On Friday, 14 July 2006, Eric Clapton and his band performed at Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle in Germany. The 2006 European Tour has some new musicians in the band including Derek Trucks (slide guitar), Willie Weeks (bass) and Steve Jordan (drums). Familiar faces on stage include long-time Clapton associate Chris Stainton (keyboards) and backing vocalists Sharon White and Michelle John. As with previous dates, the Dortmund set list included gems from Clapton’s extensive back catalog and more recent material, like "Little Queen Of Spades," from "Sessions for Robert J." (2004). Early reports from Dortmund indicate that "Old Love" (until Tim Carmon solo!), "Running On Faith" and "Little Queen Of Spades" were the stand-outs. Robert Cray, who is supporting Clapton’s tour, stepped out for "Old Love" and the encore, "Crossroads." The tour now moves on to Vienna, Austria for a concert on 16 July.
