Eric Clapton Launches Winter Tour In Osaka

Eric Clapton’s 2009 Winter Tour got underway on 12 February. Osaka’s Castle Hall was the venue for opening night and was filled for capacity. The show, which lasted about two-hours, included some of Eric’s best-loved songs and some real surprises like "Isn’t It A Pity," "That’s Alright" and "Everything’s Gonna Be Alright." As always, EC delivered his hallmark guitar solos throughout the concert.

On stage with Eric were band members Chris Stainton (keyboards), Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums), Willie Weeks (bass), Doyle Bramhall II (guitars / backing vocals), Sharon White (backing vocals) and Michelle John (backing vocals).

There was no opening act. EC’s next concert takes place on 13 February at the same venue. While in Japan, Eric will also perform two special concerts with Jeff Beck on 21 and 22 February in Saitama, Japan.
