Mayall’s 70th Birthday Concert CD Due 10 November

Liverpool’s King’s Dock on 19 July 2003 was the venue for a long awaited and much anticipated reunion between Eric Clapton and John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers. The occasion was the first concert in the Unite for Unicef series and a celebration of John Mayall’s 70th year. Also invited to the party were former Bluesbreaker and Rolling Stone Mick Taylor and veteran trombonist Chris Barber. It was a magical night that lived up to everybody’s expectations. The Bluesbreakers are always one of the tightest bands around but inspired by the occasion they pushed themselves to even greater heights and the guests responded in kind. The show ran for nearly two and a half hours and is presented here in its entirety. Eric Clapton appears on eight of the nineteen tracks, with Mick Taylor guesting on a further six. A DVD is also expected from Eagle Rock Entertanment.
