New Book Due 15 May: “Cream: The Lost Scottish Tour 1967-68”

Repertoire Books, a division of Repertoire Entertainment will publish “Cream: The Lost Scottish Tour” on 15 May 2006. The 132 page hardcover book will feature numerous photographs from 1967 and 1968 by well-known rock photographer, Robert Whitaker. The images capture the band in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, most previously unseen.

Whitaker accompanied Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker during Cream’s Scottish Tour in the summer of 1967. He shot the cover for Cream’s classic album, “Disraeli Gears” during this time. He photographed the band again in 1968. Whitaker is also known for his work with The Beatles traveling with them on their world tours from 1964-1966 and from several of the band’s album covers (“Revolver” and “Yesterday and Today” – also known as “The Butcher Cover”).

“Cream: The Lost Scottish Tour 1967-68” has text by former Melody Maker journalist and Cream and Clapton author, Chris Welch. The foreword is by Pete Brown, lyricist of several Cream songs including “Sunshine of Your Love” and “I Feel Free.”
